Let's Spread 150,000 Acts of Kindness Together

The holidays are here—a time of joy and connection, but also one of the busiest, most emotionally charged times of the year. While many are caught up in the celebrations, for others, this season brings loneliness, anxiety, or heartache.

This year, let’s do something powerful together. I’m challenging all of us to take part in a Daily Random Act of Kindness Challenge.

Imagine this: if every one of you reading this email completes just one small act of kindness each day, we’d collectively spread over 150,000 acts of kindness during the holidays. Think of the ripple effect—how many lives could we touch? How much brighter could we make the season for someone who needs it?

How It Works:

  1. Each day, do one random act of kindness.

It doesn’t have to be big—just intentional. Hold the door for someone, leave a note of encouragement, pay for someone’s coffee, or simply smile and greet a stranger.

  2. Share your acts of kindness.

Tell your friends, family, and colleagues about the challenge. Maybe they’ll be inspired to join, too!

  3. Repeat.

Let kindness become your daily practice.

Need Ideas? Start Here:

  • Call a friend you haven’t spoken to in a while. Just last week, I called a high school friend who’s had a tough year. That one call felt meaningful for both of us, and it reminded me how simple gestures can have a profound impact.

  • Be patient in the hustle. Smile at the store clerk or the person in line ahead of you. Say hello. Ask them how they’re doing and mean it.

  • Lend a hand. Carry someone’s groceries, shovel a neighbor’s walkway, or hold the elevator for someone rushing in.

  • Make a donation. Whether it’s to a local shelter, a food pantry, or even anonymously to someone in need, every little bit helps.

  • Show appreciation. Thank someone for their work—a teacher, a barista, or a coworker.

Why Kindness Matters

The holidays can be hard for some, even if they don’t show it. When we intentionally spread kindness, we help others feel seen, valued, and cared for. It’s an act of emotional intelligence—a small but significant way to make a difference in the world around us.

This week, let’s commit to kindness. If we all take on this challenge, think of the lives we could brighten, the smiles we could spark, and the hope we could create.

Together, we can turn this holiday season into a season of connection, compassion, and care—one small act at a time.

Are you in?

With love and kindness,

Tara
