Be Mindful of How You Scroll, Comment, and Show Up
Social media can be a powerful tool for connection, inspiration, and growth.
But without emotional intelligence, it can quickly turn into a highlight reel of comparison, impulsive comments, and content that doesn’t reflect who we truly are.
Here’s your reminder this week:
Be mindful of what you're consuming.
Are you following accounts that lift you up or make you feel less than? Take inventory. Unfollow what doesn't serve you.
Pause before you comment.
Just because we can share our opinion doesn’t mean we should. If your words don’t serve a purpose, spark a helpful conversation, or add value—skip it. There’s no need to hurt someone’s feelings to prove a point.
Be intentional with what you’re posting.
Ask yourself: Does this reflect who I came to be? Or is this coming from insecurity, fear, or the need for validation?
Last week on the Be Who You Came to Be podcast, I sat down with social media expert and online performance coach Giselle Ugarte, who shared a brilliant framework for intentional content creation:
The GIVE Framework
Gratitude – What are you thankful for?
Insights – What have you learned that could help someone else?
Vulnerability / Values – What do you stand for or believe in?
Emotion – What are you feeling, and how can that create connection?
It’s a refreshing shift away from performance… and back to purpose.
I’m sharing a short clip from the episode below—it’s a must-listen if you’re ready to take back control of how you use social media.
Online or offline, the goal isn’t perfection—it’s presence.
Show up as the real you.
That’s the version the world actually needs.
